Contact sheet

I have created a contact sheet to showcase all the photos i took during my photo shoot for my digipak and poster. I realized the range of different photos i took and what a variety I had. This will be useful when i come to pick the pictures that i want.

Model release form

I also completed a model release form before taking any photos for my digipak and magazine advert. This means i have a hard copy of her consent.

Actor release form

Before filming i made sure i got my actress to sign a release form so i had a written copy of her consent for filming.

Pitch your ideas

I have created a proposal to pitch my ideas and compare my ideas to the original brief. This was helpful as i could look back at it to remind me what the overall task is and keep on track.

Location recce 2

This is my second location recce as i decided to use two different locations in my video for the peformance and narrative. This is a compeltly different location to before and i had to make sure it was suitable as its in a house and therefore posed the danger of it looking amature.

Photographs of locations

I took photos of my location before filming to see how i could set up the shoot and how to make it look effective. It gave me a basic idea of how i could make the video look.

I went to my location before i filmed to look at how i could make it work for the video and what things i would possibly need to change before i started filming.

Structure of music video

When I filmed my first draft of my music video i followed this structure roughly so i knew what order i wanted the shots are more importantly what type of shots i would need and would look effective. However as i used a multicam, i had a lot more footage than was needed which was helpful incase their was an error.

Alterations along the way

Here i have made a prezi which explains all the alterations i have made throughout the project. I have explained what my original ideas were and why i had to change them.

Health and safety evidence

I had completed my health and safety evidence before my music video to make sure i had a plan for anything that could go wrong. I did this in the form of a risk assessment which looks into all the possible problems that could occur when filming.

Storyboard

Today i have created a rough storyboard to help me get an idea of what shots i would like in my video. This will make it easier when it comes to shooting my video as i will know what shots i want and am looking for. This however will not help with editing as i am currently unsure which order i would like them in.

Artist styling/costume planning

For my music video, I have decided to go with a retro vintage theme from the 1950's. This means my costumes are all going to have to fit in with this era and also the artists image such as hair and makeup are going to have to be suitable.

For hair and makeup I am going for the slick and sophisticated look. I want the hair to be neatly tied up with shiny waves in. This will make it look professional and also very femenine at the same time. I may decide to have the artists hair down if I prefer the look of it but it must be neat for it to look correct. For her makeup, I want it to be very understated and classy so minimal but still effective at the same time. She will have eyeliner to shape her eyes nicely and also red lipstick to give them a good contrast against her skin. Even though the video is in black and white, her lips will then come out a slightly darker shade than normal.

For the artists outfit, when she is performing i want her to wear a long black evening dress to make it look as realistic as possible that she is performing for an audience. Her jewellery should be pearls to make it look very classy and possibly long gloves but this is optional. When i come to filming the narrative sections, I will not have the full outfit on show as they will only be close ups, however i will have her wearing an old fashioned coat and a long skirt and blouse to fit in with the theme from the 1950's as this is the correct attire from that era.

Editing software

I have listed the three main types of editing software that will be used for music videos and spoke a little about them. I have spoken about the positives and negatives for each one and this has helped me decide which i will probably need for my own music video.

On the haydon media website, I have now booked when I am taking the equipment out and also which studio I am booking out . Below you can see how the schedule is layed out and also that i am booked in to shoot on Monday 3rd December.

Contact the artist

I have now sent an email to Paloma Faiths record label asking permission to use their song. This shows that i have tried to get in contact with them and that i have informed them that i do plan to use one of their artists songs.

Props list

Today i have made a props list which is a general idea of what i will need to make my music video successful and fit into the 1950's themes as the small props will have the biggest effect. This will help when i come to film as i will already have a list of all the things i need to remember.

Lyric analysis

I have analysed the lyrics of the song i wish to use to understand its full meaning so i can create the emotions intended in my video and also try and see if i can make a link between narrative and lyrics.

Initial planning ideas

Today i have completed my initial planning ideas. To start off i made a quick spider diagram to jot down my ideas and this made it easier to come up with an overall idea as i combined all my thoughts together. I then went in a bit more depth into what my original idea is.
